Lucy Hart (August One Communications)
IPBartenders was commissioned by RWE npower to help inject excitement into the 2006 Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, which the energy company sponsors.
Liam and the team did not fail to disappoint, their creative recipes were just what we were looking for; delicious, great looking drinks. Liam attended our two press events and was a total asset to the team, chatting charismatically with journalists and performing his role as master mixologist with aplomb.
Liam and Ben were central in making our event for the public at Burlington Arcade a real success. Liam was also on hand to host an ‘at home;’ cocktail evening for a competition winner who fed back that he was ‘perfect’ – a sentiment we fully reciprocate!

although we quite like the British comedian Dom Joly's testimonial after we made drinks at his Christmas party "the first time I threw up since I was eighteen...rates as one of the top three evenings of my life" we don't, and wouldn't like to claim credit for all of it... so here are some other more pleasant (but less amusing) references and media stories...

Campbell Evans (Director, Scotch Whisky Association)
“Thanks for all your help last night. The reception was a great success and
the cocktails really hit the mark, giving everyone something to talk about,
and something different to try.”

“Thanks for your help. It was great night, with lots and lots of plaudits for
the cocktails. Glad you enjoyed it, and hope you had a good night seeking
out the hot spots of Geneva.”

“You may be interested to know that the editor of Drinks International
(Patience Gould) has just emailed me to say that last night's was the best
Whisky Sour that she has ever had. She asked for your details which I have
supplied.”

Sheila Lynch (Special Project Manager, Edelmann PR, Dublin)
“It was a real treat working with you guys - you are an absolutely
fantastic team & hopefully with the recommendations I've been giving
here - we'll have you over for more of the Smirnoff & Baileys gigs in
the future.”

Helen Salmon (Royal Court Theatre)
" there was a great atmosphere and it was a really memorable event (or the lack of our guests memories if they drank too many of your fabulous cocktails)."

Claire Doherty (Scottish and Newcastle Retail)
"Spoke to a couple of managers and Pat McGrath feedback has been excellent, pitched at the right tone, nothing but compliments ..... hope you are doing all our training."

Georgina Jones (Harrison Cowley Marketing)
“Once again thank you - I think it went off very well in the end and it
should be said that this was as much down to personality as bartending
skills. Our client was also very pleased.”

Sally Key (Diageo)
“I'm glad you sent the invoice so quickly - I hadn't got an address to drop
you a line to say thank you! You did a great job and I know the guys and
gals really enjoyed their day. I also had a call from Jane Redhead (the
external organiser who works with PWC on this) saying it was the best
semi-final she'd managed in 4 years.”

Cindy Hedman (Quantum Events)
“Just a quick note to say a big thank you to you and the guys who did us
proud! I know it was really busy but you had it all under control and we appreciate
how hard you worked with us to keep it all going!”

Helen Strange (Nibbs Events)
"Thank you & all your team for last night at the Bond Premiere.
I’m afraid that I really didn’t get a chance to talk to you but I knew that all your guys & girls would be fabulous & would look after the bars fabulously!"

Rob Sutton (Coca Cola)
"I would like to formally convey my thanks to you for your efforts in making the Schweppes Bar at the Publican Awards such a success on Tuesday night. The attached message is just one of the dozens of congratulations we have received from Coca-Cola people and customers alike."

Andrew Kong (Allied Domecq, Hong Kong)
"Thank you very much for your team's brilliant performance during the restaurant & bar exhibition from 29 to 31 Oct. It is a memorable experience to work with your team for these 3 days and I look forward to have another chance of cooperation with you in the near future. "

Jill Bench, (Atomic Events, London)
"A HUGE thank you to everyone for making Saturday night such a fantastic event. All the reports back were that it was ‘the best party ever’ or ‘the party to end all parties’ – so I think we did good!!!!!
A great team effort.
Thanks again – we’ll have to do it again soon"

Paola Tecchiati, (Prada Milan)
"it was such a pleasure to have you in our team. The party has been totally successfull and people were happy about everything (we heard people's comments on the drinks, they really enjoyed them...special and strong as they like them!!!!).
I hope we'll have the chance to work together again. Your support has been important for the result of the party."

Anonymous Bartender (UK)
"Just wanted to drop you a quick line to pass on my personal thanks for the training day you ran here at the (name witheld) on Tuesday. Having spent the last 3 years making cocktails according to the XXX blueprint, I had come to think of myself as a pretty good bartender. However, just a few hours under your guidance showed my just how restrictive this company actually is and how much I still have to learn. Shaking a drink would have been unheard of until now; everything was either bar-built, or thrown together in a Boston tin and chucked under a spindle mixer. Last night however, James and I ran our cocktail bar using the skills you have given us - bev-naps under EVERY drink, shake for vitality, taste the drinks, strain any dilution, use bar spoons etc.- and the impression even on our somewhat uneducated clientele was remarkable. I can only hope that XXX will realise that the way forward is to move away from 'menus' and allow their more capable bartenders to create drinks with free-reign. "
